Emma Clark
Melbourne Part-Time teacher, Emma Clark, is a Shillington graduate. She prides herself as a multidisciplinary designer, working in digital, branding, packaging, watercolour and set design. She has worked and freelanced in some of Melbourne’s leading agencies, including Elizabeth Jean Branding, TAG Digital and Charcoal Creative. Emma hopes to cultivate a safe and supportive learning environment, where blue-sky thinking rains and there are no wrong answers.
What do you love about design?
I love that design is constantly evolving and that it has the power to influence thinking, confront perception and enable conversation.
Why do you teach?
I have always loved being in the classroom. I was one of those students who couldn’t wait to be at school, always on time and hungry for knowledge. I love the idea that as a teacher I can inspire others to grow their thinking and skill set.
Tell us about your design career outside of Shillington.
I am currently working as a freelancer for a few different agencies in Melbourne and also run my own hustle called Paint it Red Design, servicing clients digital, branding and strategic needs.

If you were a typeface, what would you be?
I love anything on The Font Review-Journal, but if I was a font I’d be some kind of serif; smart, sexy and classic.
What’s your favourite blog?
I’d be lying if I said my favourite blog was design related. My favourite blogs are The Gourmet Traveller, Elana’s Pantry and George Eats.. you may have guessed a theme here. FOOD! I love cooking and discovering new recipes.
