Design Foundations gives you the essential knowledge and practical skills to kickstart your journey in Graphic Design.

The module is broken down into 5 key areas:

• Design Theory
  Build a strong understanding of what makes great design. You'll dive into key topics like design principles, grids, typography, and colour theory.
• Design Practical
  Get hands-on with industry-leading tools such as InDesign, Illustrator, Figma, and Photoshop through in-depth program tutorials.
• Concept Development
  Discover creative techniques that help you think conceptually and develop unique design ideas.
• Briefs
  Learn how to interpret and respond to design briefs, applying your new skills to deliver successful design solutions.
• Final Project
  Finish with a branding project, where you'll create a multi-part rollout and present it as a professional pitch or portfolio piece.

In Design Applied, you will apply and refine the skills you acquired during Design Foundation through comprehensive briefs.

You will also learn:

• Advanced techniques in design programs
• How to manage and develop in-depth, multi-day briefs with extensive rollout
• Understand complex brief requirements
• Receive personalised feedback during class
• Further individual reviews of your work and skills progress from your teachers
• Soft skills including time and project management

Design for Employment is your final module and is geared towards you having an interview portfolio and personal website complete by the end of the course, ready for your journey into the design industry.

During this time you will:

• Have extensive individual chats with your teachers to choose your final projects for your folio
• Develop a personal brand identity
• Revisit and develop briefs to a professional standard with your improved skills and confidence
• Develop an interview portfolio
• Create a portfolio website
• Showcase your work to the top names within the industry
