George Simkin
The founder of Simkin Studio, an independent multidisciplinary design studio based in East London. Originally from Ireland, with a career spanning over 13 years in the London design industry, George Simkin works across a wide range of sectors including branding, editorial, retail design, and illustration. Honest collaboration is key when working with clients and enabling them to have the vision of their business or idea come to life. He is also one of the key members of Puck Collective, an evolving group of creatives, illustrators, printmakers who produce shows and events that focus on creativity and play in public spaces. He also loves to eat tacos.
What do you love about design?
I love that design can really change people’s lives, without them even noticing. I love that design is everywhere. Endless possibilities with creating something new and always trying to make things better.
Tell us about your design career outside of Shillington.
I have have my own company Simkin Design, I’m also part of the illustration group Puck Collective.
What or who are you loving right now?
Morag Myerscough. She really takes graphics to bold and exciting extremes in areas that lack life.
If you were a typeface what would you be?
GIN Regular.
