Shillington Scholarships 2026

Shillington's September 2026 Scholarships are now open, in collaboration with Right Aligned Academy.

If you've ever looked at the design industry and thought it wasn't built for someone like you, you're probably right.

That is what this scholarship is for. Not a hand up. A door open. We'll give you the course, the teachers and the community. You bring the perspective the industry has been missing.

This scholarship is for people the design industry has historically left out.

That might be because of your race, your class, your gender, your sexuality, your age, a disability or something else entirely. If you've ever felt like design was not built for someone like you, this is built for you.

No design experience needed. We're looking for curiosity, a point of view and something you want to say.

Answer a few short questions

We’d love to learn more about you, your perspective and why this opportunity matters to you. You’ll be asked to share:

  • A little about yourself and what you currently do
  • Why you’re interested in studying design
  • How you meet the scholarship eligibility criteria
  • Why you’d like to study at Shillington
  • What you hope to do after graduating
  • How receiving this scholarship could impact your future

Respond to the Creative Brief

In partnership with Right Aligned Academy, applicants will complete a creative brief exploring an issue, idea or topic that feels personally meaningful or socially relevant.

There’s no “right” way to respond, and no previous design experience is required. We’re more interested in your thinking, ideas and perspective than polished visuals.

You can submit your response in any format that feels right for you including a PDF, video, presentation, photography, writing, collage, website, moodboard or other creative medium.
