Design Cities: Tere’s Guide to Buenos Aires.
Design Cities is our new series where the Shillo team, spread right across the globe, share the spots that inspire them in the cities they call home. Independent print shops, hidden creative hubs, architecture worth the detour and the cafés where ideas get scribbled on napkins. Pin them on your maps for your next visit.
First up, it's Tere Martignone. One of Shillington's Community & Social Coordinators, and the city is Buenos Aires.
Galería Patio Del Liceo
One of my favourite little creative corners in Buenos Aires. It’s tucked away inside an old school and filled with independent design studios, shops, galleries and cafés.

Tinta Es Luz
Independent print shop with a focus on illustration, risography, and ceramics. Basically, a little treasure trove for anyone who loves discovering new artists.

Eterna Cadencia
An independent bookstore, publishing house, and café-bar, perfect for when you need a break. (Buenos Aires can be noisy).

La Suite
Home deco but make it quirky, a perfectly curated selection of Argentinian artists come together in this multidisciplinary paradise. A maximalist’s dream.
Chacarita Cemetery
Yes, a cemetery. But also a collection of architectural masterpieces and a less touristic (and free) alternative to the famous Recoleta Cemetery.
Centro Cultural Recoleta
There’s always something interesting (and usually free) to see here. Art, photography, performance, music, and a tempting gift shop/bookshop.
