What do you love about design?
I love that design can make a positive difference/impact in peoples lives. It enables people to come together, to collaborate, listen and learn from each other.
Why do you enjoy working in design education?
I have had the privilege of being mentored by strong female designers in Canada and Australia, who have helped shape me into the designer and person I am. With over a decade of industry experience I wanted to give back to the design community. For me diving into a teaching is the best way I know how. I can’t wait to work with students but most importantly learn, listen and engage with them.
What keeps you busy outside of Shillington?
Outside of Shillington I spend most of my time outdoors. I love planning adventures in the bush, whether it is a multi-day hike or touring on my bike. When I can you will find me running around the tan as a guide for athletes with vision impairment (proud member of Achilles Melbourne).
