Alessia Mazzarella
Part-time Graphic Design Teacher
Alessia Mazzarella is an Italian typeface designer and font engineer based in London. She started her career working and designing typefaces for prominent English foundries—during this time, she worked on many successful international projects. In 2020, Alessia co-founded Typeland a type design practice, with her partner Vaibhav Singh. The studio specialises in custom, retail, and multi-script typeface design, combining innovative research with careful attention to detail to produce unique and high-quality designs. Typeland’s work has been recognised internationally and has received various awards over the years, including a D&AD pencil.
