A solar-powered identity for homes powered by the sun. Balise is a new sustainable housing development in Northeastern France. Over 200 acres of the site are dedicated to a solar farm that powers the entire community – an idea that underpins the brand identity.
Drawing on the cyanotype printing process, which uses UV light to create vivid blue images, the visual system reflects the role of sunlight in shaping both the brand and its environment.
The logo shifts in exposure throughout the day, creating a living identity that is never static. Blue-to-white gradients echo varying UV levels across print and digital applications, while billboards and social stories extend the concept in real time by responding to current UV conditions.
