What do you love about design?
I love that design can make something complicated, accessible and beautiful.
Why do you teach?
It’s so rewarding to share my knowledge but am equally inspired by observing the different ways the students approach their work and the things that are making them excited. It’s a great feeling to encourage their creativity by giving them the technical tools to bring their ideas to life.
Tell us about your design career outside of Shillington.
It hasn’t been a linear path, but I think that’s what has made it interesting for me! I have been a designer, illustrator, letterpress printer, prepress manager and even an account manager.
What or who are you loving right now?
Oh so many things! The Taschen library of art books, basically every illustrator, artist collaboration in fashion, the colour green, the rain, pizza!
If you were a typeface, what would you be?
A purely aspirational choice — anything from OhNoType.co
