Hear straight from our graduates.
I can say that it was one of the best investments I’ve ever made and has taken my career to the level I wanted it to be at.

What were you up to before Shillington?
Before Shillington I had spent many years studying and working in film and television. When I was younger made some horrible posters for local bands.
Why did you decide to study design?
I wanted to broaden my skill set and try something a little different. Also I was self-taught on the tools and knew there were pieces of the puzzle missing that I couldn’t gain easily watching YouTube videos. Filling in those missing pieces would benefit me when working in post production also, so it was a win win.
What’s your typical day like as a designer?
I currently work for a digital agency and continue to freelance when possible, so my days can be quite busy and the work varied. I now work primarily in Experience Design at AKQA and have a hand in the UX and UI design on websites. I also do a fair bit of content/video creation for the creative team and my freelance clients.
What would you say to someone who is sceptical about Shillington?
My main concern was the cost and timeframe. I can say that it was one of the best investments I’ve ever made and has taken my career to the level I wanted it to be at.
It is a quick course but it is packed with everything you will need in the industry and none of the filler. The teachers were incredible and supportive through all the meltdowns. I can say in all honesty I wouldn’t be doing the variety of work I am without this course.
Anything else you’d like to share?
Since leaving I have worked with 5 other graduates of Shillington who were all hired straight out of the course. Their level of design execution and ability on the tools is why Shillington is a great option. It’s great prep for the real world and it will only get easier.
