Shillington is a big, fun, crazy creative family.
Head of Marketing & Communications
Global
Sara Mazzoni
Originally from Colorado, Sara Mazzoni has connected the dots of her marketing career around the world to land in Sydney, Australia. Favourite roles include working for the Los Angeles Country Arts Commission, in the career center at George Washington University and wearing many hats at a Little Peach Co., a boutique letterpress studio. This role at Shillington is her dream job—combining a love of creativity with her insatiable desire to share the stories and successes of amazing people doing amazing things.
Why do you enjoy working in design education?
Shillington is a big, fun, crazy creative family. Our leadership team is unbelievably innovative, our teaching team’s passion is off the charts … and our students make it all worth while! I love coming to work every day.
What keeps you busy outside of Shillington?
Instagrammable nature walks. Binge-watching Netflix series. Singing along to everyone’s least favourite music—country and show tunes. Bronte Beach at sunrise. Reading modern novels, pop science, memoirs and trashy crime novels. And eating good food with even better company.
What or who are you loving right now?
Laughing at Mari Andrew’s illustrations. Feeling nostalgic with Timehop. And hunting down the best doughnut in Sydney (Grumpy Donuts’ Apple Fritter is currently in the lead).
What’s your favourite blog?
I’m guilty of spending way too many hours on Buzzfeed, plus I love Cup of Jo and Jezebel. Design-wise, I used to work at a letterpress studio so I’m a total sucker for For Print Only. And of course I have to mention Shillington Design Blog, where our marketing team shares incredible stories and resources!
I’m also a big podcast fan. Song Exploder, It’s Been a Minute, Before Breakfast, Happier and In Good Company are some of my favourites.
