Hear straight from our graduates.
Graphic design was an interest and a hobby for years. I decided it was finally time to make it a priority and pursue design full-time.

What’s your current job title/company?
I’m a designer at WH-O.
What were you up to before Shillington?
I had been all over the place since finishing undergrad, trying out different things. Most recently I was abroad for over a year teaching English and traveling in South Korea and other parts of Asia.
Graphic design was an interest and a hobby for years. I decided it was finally time to make it a priority and pursue design full-time. When I researched certificate programs, Shillington had great reviews and I knew NYC was the place I wanted to be for the field.
What would you say to someone who is skeptical about the Shillington course?
Looking back, Shillington was definitely worth it to me because portfolios that come out of it are very impressive for such a short amount of time. I felt significantly more confident applying for jobs and going into interviews. It’s also a great opportunity to make connections with people in the industry.
Why do you love working as a designer?
I love getting to tackle different challenges and try new things every day, anything from concept development to copywriting or even video editing. Switching it up keeps things feeling fresh and never boring. It’s also very satisfying to see projects through to the end, getting to see something you helped bring to life out in the world.
