Shillington responds to COVID-19

A huge thank you to our Shillington community and for your interest in studying with us. The health and wellbeing of our community is our top priority.

Please see below for our latest policy information for upcoming courses at all our campuses. Subject to change.

For applicants seeking further information about Study Abroad opportunities during COVID-19, Shillington firmly advises that it is your responsibility to research and confirm any travel-related restrictions that may affect you.

We will be welcoming students to campus in London for our Full-Time and Part-Time Courses starting in January and February 2022 respectively. Extra safety and social distancing measures—including HEPA Air Filters in each room, one-way systems around campus, spaced-out student workstations, increased cleaning and sanitiser stations—will be in place to ensure the campus is a safe place to be.

Whilst on campus, we require students to follow our COVID safety precautions:

  • Provide vaccination status prior to your start date. If fully vaccinated, students will not be required to wear a face covering throughout their studies. Proof of vaccination can be provided through an NHS Covid Pass—either on the NHS app or as a paper version.
  • If students are not fully vaccinated, they will be required to wear a face covering whilst at Shillington.
  • All students, whether fully vaccinated or not—will be required to test themselves once a week, using a Lateral Flow Test and confirm their negative status using the NHS text service. It is our students responsibility to order enough tests for the duration of the course.
  • If students feel ill or have any symptoms of Covid-19, they must stay at home and take a test. If, at any point, they receive a positive result from a lateral flow test—they must order a PCR test and self isolate at home until they receive it. If their PCR test is positive, they must then self isolate for a 10 day period. Our course is accessible for those self isolating at home throughout.

Medical exemptions:

  • If you have been given a medical exemption for the COVID-19 vaccine, you must send your relevant paperwork to uk@shillingtoneducation.com 2 weeks prior to your first day of class.
  • Those with a medical exemption for the vaccine will be required to wear a mask on the campus until further notice.

At Shillington—we will be promoting a “be kind and wear a mask” policy for those who are fully vaccinated. So it’s our staff & student’s choice, if they feel comfortable wearing a mask—they’re welcome to.

Enrolments for the January full-time and February part-time in person courses are open now! We recommend applying sooner rather than later to guarantee your spot.

If circumstances change, enrolled students will agree to transition to online learning. Our team is fully prepared to manage this clearly and confidently, ensuring the best learning environment and outcome for all students.

If you have any other questions about Shillington’s COVID-19 policy in London, please email us directly at uk@shillingtoneducation.com.

All Shillington New York classes have returned to in-person as of September 2021. Shillington is continuing to assess the current situation regarding COVID-19 and our ability to continue to be in-person is dependent upon numerous factors including; travel restrictions, changing government guidelines, lockdowns and availability of vaccines.

As long as the above factors allow for in-person teaching the school has safety requirements in place to make the classroom environment as safe as possible for staff and students. These requirements apply to all 2022 courses.

Whilst on campus, we require students to follow our COVID safety precautions:

  • All students studying on campus in New York must be fully vaccinated and provide valid proof of vaccination before the first day of class. Factor this into your timeline. Please note each vaccine requires different periods of time after your second dose to be effective.
  • Whilst on campus, we require all students to wear a face covering whether fully vaccinated or not.
  • Domestic Travel: If you are traveling from out-of-state to study at the New York campus, it is your responsibility to review any travel restrictions and honor the travel protocols. If you do travel, follow all CDC recommendations before, during, and after domestic travel.
  • International Travel: If you are traveling internationally to study at the New York campus, it is your responsibility to review the travel restrictions and honor the international travel protocols.
