Say hello to Kate Holland, winner of the Shillington Design Safari
Ever wondered about what kind of people study at Shillington? Well here’s your chance to find out!
Before Shillington, Kate Holland was a fresh high school graduate enjoying a European gap year. While travelling, she discovered Shillington’s 3 month full-time course in London and decided to kickstart her design career. After graduation she returned to Australia, working for a boutique hospitality group and then designed for the 2018 Commonwealth Games. When Kate saw Shillington’s exclusive graduate offer for a paid work and travel opportunity at The School of St Jude in Arusha, Tanzania, she jumped at the opportunity.
Sometimes you can get caught up in all the materialism and mundanity of design so it’ll be nice to feel like my work is making a difference, even if it’s ever so small!
At Shillington you’ll produce a website alongside your portfolio to showcase all your amazing work. Have a look through Kate’s design portfolio website to see what you could create after 3 or 9 months!
Hear more about what it’s really like to kickstart a new design career as Kate tells us about her Shillington experience, and what it’s like to work as a designer in Tanzania.
