The new Whitney Museum exhibition, Vida Americana: Mexican Muralists Remake American Art takes a close look at the influence of Mexican muralists, influencing 20th-century American artists.
Many American artists traveled to Mexico and the prominent Mexican muralists like José Clemente Orozco, Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros spent a lot of time in the United States exhibiting their work and commissioned for murals, paintings and prints. In this exhibit, there are 200 works on view by both Mexican and American artists, illuminating the influence of Mexican mural art in the United States.
On view until 17 May 2020 at The Whitney Museum, 99 Gansevoort Street.
