We are on the look out for a talented and passionate Junior UX Designer who shares our dedication in the world of user experience to join our technology department.

Role Details

Role Purpose:

The Junior UX Designer will work collaboratively with the UX team, working alongside experienced designers to support the Totes UX research activities and creating compelling UX deliverables across various projects. The Junior UX Designer will be a passionate advocate for the user and will work with key stakeholders to deliver great user experiences across all digital channels used by our customers.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work with and support UX designers, UX Researchers, Product Owners and Engineers to design innovative and effective product experiences
• Work with the Lead UX Designer, UI Designers, Product Owners, Software Engineers, Legal & Compliance and Copywriters to progressively move from low fidelity wireframes to high fidelity to explain concepts and ensure that the ideas are followed through to market
• Take briefs, drawing ideas, wireframing, designing final ideas, prototyping, and producing required documents to present to stakeholders across the business
• Contribute to forming and testing ideas, designs and solutions
• Working with the Product Owner, Head of UX & Design to incorporate a visual or brand identity into the finished product
• Work effectively alongside the UX designers to provide rapid support and feedback on tasks involving UI design, UX journey analysis and configuration to ensure a consistent approach to the customer journey
• Work with our UX researcher to carry out usability studies and provide feedback, reporting your insights and findings to the UX Team and Product Owners including relevant analysis and data (liaising with data analyst where necessary)
• Documenting customer insights and findings
• Provide substantiation for UX design proposals though data, expert analysis, and feedback
• Communicating scenarios (hypothetical users), Customer user flows, interaction models, and screen designs to other people across the business
• Create user stories, personas, site maps, user flows, prototypes and storyboards
• Keep abreast of competitors and the latest industry developments
• Working with and developing our Design System

Skill/Attributes Required

• Proven work experience within a design role or can show a portfolio of work to demonstrate your experiences
• Educated to degree level in a design or similar discipline
• Proficient with industry standard design tools (e.g. Sketch, Adobe Suite, Figma, InVision)
• Proven track record of problem-solving and established user-centric mindset with high attention to detail
• Comfortable working in a fast-paced, highly dynamic environment with multiple stakeholders
• Strong team player with excellent communication and collaborative skills, both visual and verbal
• Knowledge of user centered design methodologies, lean design, and agile development
• Understanding of responsive design and accessibility.
• A portfolio of work demonstrating experience creating user-centred design solutions (flows, prototypes, wireframes) and visual designs (mock-ups and design style guides) is desirable
