Barbican have recently opened up an exhibition showcasing New York’s very own Jean-Michel Basquiat. Basquiat was at the heart of New York’s cultural scene in the late 70’s – where music mixed with street art.
Basquiat used his platform to provide social commentary, bringing attention to race and political issues through his abstract and colourful paintings.
The exhibition is on until Sunday 28th January, so plenty of time to catch his large selection of works.
