Spilling Over: Painting Color in the 1960’s

29 March—Summer 2019
New York

The ‘Spilling Over’ exhibition includes artwork from the 1960’s to early 1970’s focusing on artists like Alvin Loving, Ellsworth Kelly, Miriam Schapiro, Frank Stella and many others, reflecting on “how painting retained an urgency for artists who wanted to see anew.” The works on display use colorful and bold colors, geometric patterns and “intense color combinations to emphasize that vision is a commingling of physical response and unconscious association.”
