#ILoveTheseGuys Creative Inspiration: Motherbird

Shillington students from around the world share the work of creatives who inspire them in the #ILoveTheseGuys series. In this post, New York graduate Mary Lin highlights her favourite projects from the studio.

Motherbird is a creative studio focusing on brand identity and design in Melbourne; their approach to design is to form connections, be empathetic, and to create the unexpected through understanding. They delve deeper than just the looks of brands; they focus so much on the beliefs, the stories, and the core of each brand to build something interesting. Their projects aren’t just about the end products, Motherbird takes you on a journey through each and every one. The designs themselves are so unique and different for every project, you can really see that they’re designing something authentic to suit each brand’s story.

Can we also talk about how sweet their website is?! There are so many fun, interactive, and moving bits and pieces, I had a whale of a time exploring. I love how they present each project, which is clear and structured with the perfect amount of animations, gifs, and videos so every page is exciting. Also how the Motherbird logo moves and changes as you scroll made me go “oooOOOOOOoooo” out loud and I played with it for…let’s just say for a while.
