The Swedish born painter Hilma af Klint was deeply influenced by spiritualism and Theosophy in her work, which was popular in Europe and the United States amongst the literary and art scenes. In her abstract compositions, she experimented with form, scale, and color. In this first solo show in the U.S., this Guggenheim exhibit focuses on her prominent years between 1906–20.
