4 January 2019
During the first Friday of each month, a professional designer or illustrator sets a sketching task inspired by the Design museum’s permanent collection or exhibitions. The participants are then invited to tour the museum and sketch what excites them about contemporary design and architecture, before sharing their finished work at the end of the evening.
January’s sketch will focus on the theme of Drawing Calm. Led by illustrator and watercolourist Katie Rose Johnston, the event will begin with a short presentation in which Katie will share her work and approach to illustration. After this, you are invited to explore the Design Museum’s architecture and galleries, to create drawings that explore how drawing can create spaces of calm in public environments. All drawing abilities welcome!
Friday 4 January, 6:00 to 8:00pm
