Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving

Through 12 May 2019
New York

Celebrate International Women’s Day by visiting the exhibition of the legendary Mexican artist Frida Kahlo at the Brooklyn Museum.

Frida Kahlo: Appearances Can Be Deceiving is one of the largest exhibitions in the United States in ten years devoted to her work, and the first time the collection of her clothing and personal items will be on view. In the galleries, you will find various videos of Frida and her home, along with beautiful self-portrait paintings, drawings, photographs, and jewelry. “The objects shed new light on how Kahlo crafted her appearance and shaped her personal and public identity to reflect her cultural heritage and political beliefs, while also addressing and incorporating her physical disabilities.”
