Junior Graphic Designer / Full Time / Paid
London UK

New Junior Graphic Designer role within a large Architecture practice — working within a small team with one Senior Designer. Would suit someone proactive looking for their first role with an opportunity to gain experience across design and production. Projects range from digital assets to printed materials.

Role Details

This is a new and varied role within our practice and a great opportunity to make your own. You will be assisting the Senior Graphic Designer and wider marketing team to produce various printed and digital materials; support the various architectural teams in their project pitches and presentations; and collaborate with staff to improve internal communications and the studio culture.

Part of this role entails assisting the marketing team in the production of various materials using pre-designed templates. This includes press adverts, business cards and website updates. Working closely with the wider marketing team you will be responsible for ensuring marketing material is of a professional standard and in-line with the practice’s brand guidelines. You will also be responsible for managing and maintaining an internal library of project images and retouching architectural images where needed. A small part of the role includes photographing staff, project samples and architectural models, however training can be provided.

You will be responsible for the creation of social media assets and campaigns (including animation and moving content) internal communications and digital newsletters. You will also be assisting the Senior Graphic Designer on projects spanning branding, books, brochures, videos, signage web and digital.

Key Responsibilities:
Supporting the Senior Graphic Designer and wider marketing team with ad hoc design and creative artworking, creating custom material that is inline with the brand aesthetic;
Assisting architectural teams with project pitches and proposals, including screen presentations, bid documents and bespoke printed materials — sometimes following brand templates and sometimes creating bespoke solutions;
Production of internal newsletters, posters, event invites
and other communications to improve studio culture;
Managing a library of DTP InDesign templates such as project presentations, reports, bid documents, project/portfolio sheets and screen presentations;
Various artworking duties using marketing material templates, such as press adverts, business cards, posters, sometimes liaising with printers and external suppliers;
Updating the practice website with the latest project information, images and news;
Management of practice image library, including file-keeping, sourcing stock images and liaising with architectural teams to keep project images up-to-date;
Light photoshop retouching of architectural images;
Photographing staff and project models/samples for use in marketing material (training can be provided);
Assisting architectural teams with DTP and InDesign projects by offering one-to-one support for staff having difficulty using templates.

Who We Are:
We are a small, tight-knit marketing team within a large architectural studio based in Central London. The practice is involved in a variety of architectural work ranging from large-scale masterplans to small-scale public art installations. Benefits include a cycle-to-work scheme, on-site showers and changing room, free life-drawing and yoga classes, regular CPDs and a number of sports and social events organised throughout the year.

Who We’re Looking For:
Ideally you will have an interest in architecture and the built environment. You will be a highly organised, self-motivated team-worker with strong time management skills and an exceptional eye for detail. You will have high professional standards with regards to DTP: poor typography upsets you and not a single spelling mistake would make it past you! You enjoy producing editorial and layout designs and have strong InDesign skills and a good knowledge of Photoshop/Illustrator. The successful candidate must feel comfortable engaging with the wider office, answering DTP queries and assisting staff in the use of InDesign templates.
