Cybersecurity Visuals Workshop and Challenge (31 July only)

31 July 2019
Brooklyn, New York

The Cybersecurity Visuals Workshop and Challenge hosted by OpenIDEO is an excellent opportunity for recent graduates and designers to participate in brainstorming new ways to re-visualize cybersecurity perception by using visuals that are more appealing and friendly, unlike the dark and dreary images we’re used to seeing.

“Many technologists don’t understand how people learn or interact with computers and that-ignoring the human factor-is the original sin that got us into many problems on the internet.” —Laurin Buchanan, Principal Investigator for Secure Decisions and an industry leader in cybersecurity awareness.

  • 6:45pm: Networking
  • 7:00pm: Workshop begins and discuss the challenge brief
  • 7:10pm: Background into Design Thinking and generate new visual ideas with your team
  • 7:30pm: Ideas pitch
  • 8:00pm: Story refinement and second pitch
  • 8:30pm: Understand how to submit your ideas to OpenIDEO for the chance to win funding.

Participants are encouraged to sign up for the OpenIDEO challenge answering the question, “how might we reimagine a more compelling and relatable visual language for cybersecurity?”
