Butter is seeking a highly motivated and talented summer design intern to join the studio. Our intern will learn the ins and outs of working with a small brand design firm and be actively involved in all aspects of our creative process. The position is remote, but you must be available to work on an EST schedule.

Role Details

Administrative responsibilities:
Track time
Use project management software and make updates and notes as needed
Attend creative meetings with clients
Creative responsibilities:
Produce final design solutions (like logos, brand systems, interfaces)
Pitch creative ideas to internal creative team
Collaborate with team members on design work
Take on production design tasks
Design brand systems and assets for clients
Design print or development ready design assets to spec
Design collateral for Butter marketing: newsletter, social media etc.
Create design assets using Figma, Illustrator, Photoshop, Indesign
Create animations and motion graphics in After Effects
Day-to-day operating responsibilities:
Understand project requirements and concepts
Follow through with assignments on time and thoughtfully
Arrive on time, fulfil expected tasks and time commitment

Skill/Attributes Required

Expert in Adobe Suite (Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop)
Fluent in AfterEffects, motion design, animation
Experience using Figma, a plus
Great at accepting and implementing feedback
Proactive self starter, brings ideas to the table
Exceptional organizational and project management skills
Excellent problem solver
Extremely detail oriented and adept at multitasking
Self starter that sticks to deadlines, arrives on time, follows through with commitments
Great at time management
Adept at learning new technologies and platforms
Strong interpersonal skills and extremely resourceful
Passion for sport, empowerment of underrepresented groups is a plus
Passion for female led and LGBTQ organizations is a plus
Passion for brand identity design and application
Familiarity with design techniques (e.g. wireframing, moodboarding)
Exceptional graphic design foundational skills (layout, type, and color)
