boom saloon is a global movement to democratise creativity for good. An ambitious non-profit, we publish a print magazine and run a creative studio specialising in design, editorial and strategy. Profits from these facilitate our community projects, which use creativity to inspire and empower those facing challenges.
As part of the Government’s Kickstart scheme, we are looking for a Community and Marketing Assistant to develop our existing marketing strategy and help stabilise the revenue stream this supports, whilst maintaining relations with our rapidly growing global community. Working under direction, the Marketing Assistant will help reach boom saloon’s marketing goals and objectives. Ongoing research is required, into market trends, demographics, pricing strategies, business development and other relevant information to help inform marketing plans. Typical responsibilities include: the maintenance and growth of social media platforms including Instagram and Twitter; regular marketing reports; the creation of marketing materials; working to target; the creation and implementation of marketing campaigns; support of online and offline events; offline marketing; maintaining community relations across social media, email and newsletter; collation of news from the boom saloon community; management of basic CRM to track comms.
This job placement will give true insight into the fast paced growth of a young creative company, with a community based around the world. Although days will be structured, each will be unique in terms of the conversations had and the ideas shared. Monday could involve planning an online event with photographers in Ecuador, New York and Hong Kong, whilst Tuesday could be spent spreading the word about our previous project partners’ latest initiatives in Glasgow. Our Community and Marketing Assistant will learn to research fully whilst thinking and acting quickly – delivering innovative marketing campaigns and nurturing relations to drive forward the development of our business around the world and allow us to further our work to democratise creativity for good.
