Massive congratulations to Shillington New York’s Megan Dweck and Sam Jacobs! They’ve both been named Students to Watch in 2018 by GDUSA, thanks to the portfolios they created after studying design 3 months full-time.
“Megan is a graduate of the Shillington School of Design and holds a Certificate in Data Visualization from NYU. She has always been passionate about visual communication and storytelling, and took the leap to a career in graphic design after spending 10 years in human resources at an investment bank. Her experience in a rigorous left-brained environment has influenced her approach to tackling design challenges by focusing first on making complex messages and data easy to understand. Megan is always looking to develop new skills and is currently focused on improving her animation skills and learning typeface design. Apart from design, Megan loves to cook, read, and spend time with her two cats (a Scottish Fold and a Himalayan).”
“Sam is a graphic designer and Pixar addict living and working in NYC. Much like Peter Pan, Sam remains young at heart but as all must do, he had grow up. Having previously worked in TV/film, architecture, advertising, and now design, Sam has always been passionate about telling great stories. While having some design experience, he decided to go back to school at Shillington to build a portfolio showcasing his storytelling skills while also feeding his desire to be creative every single day. Sam is thrilled to be beginning a new chapter working as a Senior Designer for Time Magazine.”
