What do you love about design?

The fact that every single field needs or can benefit from graphic design, from a small charity to a massive airport, is what I love about it the most! You kind of get to touch many areas in one career.

Why do you teach?

I love to learn, be inspired and contribute. My parents and entire family teach, so I grew up with that academic mindset but was always interested in the more practical side of things: creating real projects and getting my hands (or computer) dirty. So Shillington feels like the perfect opportunity to be teaching + hands on!

Tell us about your design career outside of Shillington.

Outside of Shillington I work as a freelance graphic designer & illustrator. Currently working at The Body Shop creating their Xmas campaign for 2018 (yes that does happen so far ahead!). I also rent a messy art studio where I’m starting my own brand of stationary and products.

What or who are you loving right now?

I’m really loving the brand Method, they are all natural and kind to the planet, yet super colourful and fun. Nope, not a clean freak, just like rainbows (and sustainable stuff) :).

If you were a typeface, what would you be?

Akkurat. Friendly, polite and versatile.

What are your favourite blogs?

For creative references I use It’s Nice That. When looking for inspiration from Brazil it’s always Ideafixa. For Product & Furniture Design I go to Pamono. When it comes to packaging stuff I go to The Dieline and for crafty ideas from Australia, Frankie.
