What do you love about design?
The potential to make a huge, positive impact on the world.
Why do you teach?
I get to know people from all different backgrounds and help them unlock a new way of seeing and interacting with their surroundings – and their enthusiasm for design inspires me!
Tell us about your design career outside of Shillington.
I started my career as a Visual Designer at Xbox, designing the first user-interface for the Xbox One console. Since then I have worked as a freelance/contract designer for agencies, musicians, non-profits and book publishers.
What or who are you loving right now?
I recently found an album full of postcards sent to my great grandfather during the early 1900s and I can’t get enough of it. The old paper, beautiful illustrations, and perfect script handwriting that talks about life on the farm in Kansas… I love it! Right now I’m working on photographing them to share with family and incorporate into future projects.
If you were a typeface, what would you be?
Lately I’m feeling attached to New Spirit.
